OFFICIAL NOTICE - June 24, 2007

Governor Winfield created a monthly Roll Call for all PaxLair Statehood (and cities) citizens, friends, enemies, and visitors.  The Roll Call will help everyone know who is active in PaxLair, who is interested, what people are doing, and allow citizens and visitors to tell a bit about themselves.

The Roll Call is open for reply by anyone and everyone on Chesapeake and throughout the Realm-at-large.  A new Roll Call will be created for each month of the year.  The link for the current Roll Call will be on the upper right area of the PaxLair Skypage (http://www.paxlair.com/site10).  For July 2007, the Roll Call is here.

PAXOKU, TOKUNO - June 24, 2007

Governor Winfield announced in PaxOku today he will appoint Gareth as Mayor of PaxOku on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 8 PM ET in PaxOku, Tokuno at the PaxOku Mayor's Office and Inn (95-5N, 65-27W, PaxOku, Homare-jima, Tokuno, Chesapeake).

OFFICIAL NOTICE - June 19, 2007

Mayor Tatania Karthina resigned from her position as the Mayor of PaxOku in order to spend time looking for her brother Caius.  She has served as PaxOku's mayor (and viceroy) since October 11, 2006.  We wish her dragonspeed in her endeavors and will welcome her back to the Realm in several months.

Deputy Mayor Gareth has been nominated to become the next Mayor of PaxOku.  However, Governor Winfield will not appoint Gareth to the position until the "evil" Gareth persona within the Realm is brought to justice in Guardians Gate and that Gareth's power and influence is diminished over the mayor-candidate Gareth.

Governor Winfield is the acting Mayor of PaxOku until a new mayor is appointed.

PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - June 17, 2007

Governor Winfield recently announced the PaxLair Statehood will hold a weekly PaxLair meeting in PaxOku on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 that may hold special interest for many people.  Mayor Tatania Karthina of PaxOku will be resigning her position and Deputy Mayor Gareth of PaxOku will be appointed as the new mayor.  However, rumors exist that the Governor has some undisclosed concern about Gareth involving another Gareth, an evil Gareth, within the Realm.  Other announcements affecting the Statehood are also expected at the meeting, but are still in coordination with various officials before public release.

PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - May 8, 2007

In another bold move by Mayor Ga'kuct through his policy of PaxLair City reconstruction, orcs built an Orcish Shaman Hut where the Library of Courage once stood behind the outdoor arena.

Ga'kuct said he won the building from the elves in a gambling game of cards.  According to Ga'kuct, elves attempted to cheat at the card game with their elven sight.  Ga'kuct said he then distracted the elves and also cheated.  Upon his victory, Ga'kuct immediately threw the elves into the street and threatened to call the orcish guard if they did not leave the area quickly.

Elves built the Library of Courage about a year ago and displayed books about PaxLair, particularly on Felucca. It is not known what happened to the books from the Library of Courage.  They are either in secret elven storage or the orcs burned the books.

This same location was used in early PaxLair days as the PaxLair Saloon and was "blessed" by the gods for the community.  In later years, the blessings were removed at the request of the proprietor so a multi-story saloon could be created.  In time, elves moved into the city and established the Library of Courage. 

PAXOKU, HOMARE-JIMA - May 1, 2007

Hail, I am Merik of the Oku News Network. This is your PaxOku War news story update.

This afternoon the SHOT guild invaded the island of Homare-Jima. With Gareth not having a military to command quickly packed his personal items in the Emperors mansion and fled before the SHOT guild arrived.

The challenge was made and the SHOT guild took over as the new army of Homare-Jima island. The New Emperor is Zerk of the SHOT guild.

UTB stableyard and meeting house is now complete in its construction. Owned by Ryo-Ohki sister of Hinotori a native of PaxOku City. Hinotori use to own the Lucky Fox temple in PaxOku for those that have been around for too long. The house also has a pet training area which has already been tested out by Lord Gareth. From what I am told it is one of the most advanced training areas in the world.

Bake Kitsuns spotted around town now more then ever. With Ryo and Hinotori back in the city they seem to be less shy now. PaxOku government asks that you please do not feed them. They are wild animals and could take your arm off.

Klug da Stu Makr and Kar'nokz were on their way into Dragon's Watch to attempt to make a peaceful resolution with the Evil Elves and to "and to share knowledge and explore cultural differences through learning and understanding", until the Orcs caught wind of a stench, one that could only be emitted from decaying Orc bodies. They followed the smell and discovered a massacre of Orcish remains on top of one of the local establishments. Multiple Orcish helms and Orcish bones were scattered about the place as well as a whip, which may have been used in torture. The remains appeared to have been boiled and had all the meat removed, possibly for some sort of fiendish Elven dish, and the bones kept as trophies, with the helms as their crowns.

A homeless person commonly seen sneaking around PaxLair City, eluding capture and torture by the Orcs, by the name of 'Homeless Bob' has taken residence in the recently established Snaga Hut, next to the Ladies of the Lair. "I talked to him a few times," stated John Duke "I tried to report him but every time the Orcs came he was gone. He's almost as good as me when it comes to hiding and stealthing."

"I wasn't too worried about him at first." he continued "but then he started sleeping in the woods outside my hut, slowly moving forward, until he was on my front porch. I still wasn't too concerned since I only need a very small space and it was still really out doors. So I didn't report it. But that all soon changed as I came back to my little hut for supplies and noticed it had been put into serious dismay as well as a message was left on the board stating 'Hello I have decided to squat here on your front porch. Squatters rights say I own this'." 

Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct has returned once more, with five letters hand picked from his multiple packhorse loads of fan-mail. This week he tries to re-assert his policies on the Elves as well as offer some good fishing tips. Enjoy!

"The last thing I remember before dying were those eye's that belonged to the dark robed wizard. That seems like an eternity ago now." Kerrs looked around his glass prison and wondered if he'd ever discover the bottom of this "well of arms". He came to call it that because these hideous ghastly arms and faces surrounded this whole hole downward to the underworld. From arm to arm the bottle containing Kerrs' soul circled downward into the abyss. Each arm was careful never to break the bottle, but none were ever nice. Some arms would shake the bottle, while others would taunt him and even refer to him by name. When lucky some arms passed him along quiet gently, but the momentary lapse of chaos didn't help much. Suddenly, just as Kerrs thought another victim of his was about to poke fun at him, he noticed he stopped moving downward...

" Kerrs! Tis I the Japa you contacted me on earth!" Said one of the faces from the wall. " You told me if I help you when you die, you'd help me be free of this place!"

Kerrs jumped at this first sign of hope and replied, " Arrr, break me prison and I'll make sure we will be free of this torture!" 

The meeting began as normal, with Cross spouting his hateful words toward the Orcs, and the Orcs being very kind and pleasant to the disgustingly dressed Paladin, but things soon changed very swiftly.

A stranger appeared by the name of BloodLust. He was evidently an undead, a self proclaimed vampire, and had an announcement for Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct. "...we are allied with King Oberon and the Elves,"  stated BloodLust very calmly, "If not the Elves, then maybe us next for annihilation." Then as quickly as he appeared, he removed himself from the tower. The vampire was speaking in regard to the Elves fear of a possible Orc war, now that they are in the position to do so, with ownership of PaxLair City once more. (read more here).

Ga'kuct continued the meeting, un-phased by the interruption; he was, however, unable to regain control as more disturbances followed.

Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct has announced today that the Elves have nothing to fear from the Orcs.

Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct has commented today on the statements made last week during his weekly Krak un Krydey article. An attempt to give people the ability to learn more about Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct and his plans and thoughts on PaxLair and the rest of the world. The Elves reacted harshly to Ga'kucts statement made regarding the question "When the Orcs do take over the realm, what race or class will you eliminate first?" To which Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct naturally replied the Elves, a race with a long standing rivalry against the Orcs.

PAXOKU, TOKUNO - April 16, 2007

Trinsic City is known for great things but, most know it well for its massive ports and city walls. Trinsic one of the major ports in the world sends out regular shipments of Yews Finest wines and ales. The Blue Light Tavern in PaxOku City uses this city to receive its stock for their bar.

Over the past couple weeks shipments of ale have come with only a little ale or have not come at all. The Blue Light Tavern starting to run short on supply went to Zento city to see if they could avoid shipment problems from Trinsic. Zento unfortunately charges almost five times the price Trinsic does.

PaxLair City - April 14, 2007

Oberon [LoR], King of the Elves, and Lady Autumn [LoR] visited Governor Winfield today in his Mage Tower office in PaxLair City, Felucca.  King Oberon was very concerned about Mayor Ga'kuct's recent Krak un Krydey comment about killing all Elves in the Realm.  The Governor listened yet did not seem very concerned.  Within the PaxLair Statehood, Dragons Watch has a high population of Elves, so there may be problems between that city and PaxLair City.

(The Elves of course. They are the scourge of the land. What with their pointy ears and their crappy names. If everything goes to plan, they will be killed BEFORE the Orcs take over the land.)

PaxLair City - April 13, 2007

Ga'kuct has sorted through his fanmail and has prepared five more questions to be answered. This week's questions delve into the mind of an Orc and tries to discover, what exactly is that smell coming from the sewers below PaxLair?

During one of my rounds around PaxLair City, looking to find out what those dirty Paladins are up to, I stumbled upon a very curious meeting occurring outside of Cross MacLeod’s supposed "Defense Fortress". Various aggressive creatures that are commonly seen in and around PaxLair City were leaving his home with what could only be described as 'bags full of money'. Upon further investigation I was able to hear what it was the creatures were discussing.
