Before The Paladins / After The Paladins |
The Orcs have long been concerned with the land, which was taken from them, known as PaxLair. The land they loved and cherished, the one which is abused by its inhabitants. It was under this premise that Ga’kuct formed an exploratory committee to seek out what source had caused such degradation to the area as to cause all the trees to die and the plants to wilt into nothing. With the aide of his top botanical researchers, Mayor Warboss Ga’kuct has released his final report regarding the environment of the area and summarized it into one phrase, “The Paladins Did It.†|

The New Stratics Center.
(Sorry for the blurry Image) |
Mayor Tatania Karthina is excited to announce the arrival of a Stratics Reporter to the PaxOku Neighborhood. A structured called "UO Stratics Reporter Office, PaxOku" was seen in the preliminary stages of construction, just south-east of the Homare-Jima Moongate, along the road. The owner was signed as "Kirsten Relic" and is known to be the newest Reporter for the Stratics Network. Although she was unavailable for comment, her home, as of the writing of this article, was sparsely furnished and maintained a new design to it, with paint still drying on the walls.
Mayor Karthina was excited about her new neighbor and looked forward to meeting her in the future.
Welcome to the PaxLair neighborhood Kirsten! |

Lenora on the Order Tower
|
Beloved citizen Lenora has returned to PaxLair!
Lenora was spotted roaming the streets of PaxLair looking for some activity. She was successful in her hunt as she was able to cross paths with Tatania Karthina, John Duke, Ga'kuct, and the despicable Cross MacLeod. I was able to ask Lenora a few questions before having to go clean the Orcs' trophy skulls. She indicated that she planned an extended stay in PaxLair and was originally located in Yew, until her services were no longer required.
Welcome back Lenora! |

Cross and Ga'kuct Friends? |
Strange news has broken from PaxLair City as it was reported a possible alliance has been established between the Paladins and the Orcs. The news had ignited from the claims that a "murderer" was seen roaming the streets of PaxLair, one sought for crimes against fellow citizens of the realm. The murderer known as Crazy K was spotted roaming the streets of PaxLair looking for potential prey. Preliminary reports indicate that PaxOku Mayor Tatania Karthina and a visitor of PaxLair known only as Mark were struck down by the felon. Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct and Cross MacLeod of the Paladins of Virtue struck into action on different paths, but were unable to down the fiend. It wasn't until they began to work together that justice was served. |

OFFICIAL NOTICE - April 8, 2007
Governor Winfield has declared the "UO Automap Server Link" as the official PaxLair Statehood communication system.
He said, "Our citizens and friends are constantly spread out throughout the Realm. We do not have a single alliance or guild to stay in close contact with each other. We have 5 cities to visit along with hundreds of places to wander about in the Realm. It is a chore to stay in touch and find each other quickly.
"Therefore, the ethereal UO Automap Server Link can solve these problems and make our lives much easier. Through this, we can quickly locate and chat with each other anywhere in the Realm. I am personally on the Link as much as I can ... whenever I am fishing, in Statehood meetings, or supporting a Call to Arms. Everyone on Chesapeake may use our Link and do not have to be a citizen of PaxLair."
The Server Information is provided below. |

The reapers of PaxLair have had a long standing feud against...everything. They spring up and attack anything and everything nearby. Such hostile plants can only be a device of some evil magics, possibly conjured up by Cross MacLeod. Nevertheless, the beings were always defeated upon creation. The reapers, however, have recently developed a new tactic within PaxLair.
The reapers of PaxLair are now evaluating and determining whether to buy land in PaxLair, so that they may no longer have to fight for it. This recently spotted reaper (to the right) was seen looking at the plot of land south of the Spring of Courage, which is currently for sale by the owner. It seemed to dig in well with the ground but still looked rather angry, so I only stealthed around it cautiously.
Perhaps the constant embarrassments at the hands of everything they attack has led them to their new tactic. I asked Mayor Warboss Ga'kuct about whether or not he will allow Reapers into the PaxLair housing market. He had only this to say:
Demz wylz bi treetid lyk angee uddir perzun en Paxuzg. Ib demz ib kaut helbin da hutlezz, demz wylz bi clompid. Eberiash shud keeb demz peepirz oben en kaze demz ib wurkin wyph da brufz.

On
March 31st,
2007, the PaxLair Community celebrated the binding of two of its
most prominent citizens. Mayor NANOC and Vice-Mayor Phoenix, both of Dragon’s
Watch, solidified their love by joining in matrimony. The Wedding was held on
the Northern Altar of Maginicia, Trammel, and was witnessed by well over 20
citizens of the Chesapeake Shard.
Despite rumors of an invasion of little Neo of Lothlore off
springs (Neolytes, as they like to be called) the wedding went off without a
hitch as well as the following Wedding party which was gathered at the Hall to
the west.
Congratulations NANOC and
Phoenix,
and bright futures to you from everyone!!

Treachery! The beastly fiends! Nevyn and his crew have found undeniable proof that Savages have taken Kerrs Holly! The only thing left is the cutlass Kerrs held. The horror of this news is unsettling to the DAGR crew. Most who knew him were aware of the long standing rancor against the Savages, despite the Savage Ale brought back by Greyylene.
There is some degree of suspicion as to the validity of the account brought back by the USN envoy. DAGR and USN have come to a temporary truce to battle with the Juka as a united front against the common enemy, however the not so distant past warrant for Kerr's is not forgotten by either side. It is said the look on Nevyn's face when he reported the incident was of some degree of horror and sorrow, perhaps it is sorrow at not having been able to take the Pirate himself.
Town's people across the land met this news with mixed emotions. One full town threw a party complete with a parade at the news of no longer being raided by the notorious pirate. Others reactions are filled with suspicion and disbelief, those towns where the brothels lie and the bar tenders will miss his ale and gold not to mention the stories of his adventures.
It is a grave loss for our DAGR guild! A memorial service will be held as soon as we have remains returned to our Island. Long Live the Memory of Kerrs Holly of the DAGR Pirates!! |

This was discovered to have been an April Fools prank put on by Neo Of Lothlore. The Mage Tower still stands, and is one of the most securely held IGM blessings on Chesapeake; owned as well by Winfield himself.
PAXLAIR MAGE TOWER
1998 - 2007
PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - Sad news from PaxLair City today, as the most well-known building in PaxLair met a historic end. The PaxLair Mage Tower (often known as the Order Tower, or Paladin Tower) was in danger of collapsing and ultimately fell in the early hours of the morning. Many attempts were made by Governor Winfield to save the ailing structure which first went into decay about a week ago, but unfortunately the owner could not be contacted in time.
This is not the first such incident where a historic building in PaxLair has fallen: in autumn 2006, Luigi's Pizzeria met a fateful end, and not soon after that, the former Saloon Plot was noticed to be in a decay cycle. The Saloon Plot however was saved for certain decay in the nick of time.
Citizens suspect that possibly the house owner had given up on the building, which in the past year had been redecorated and only recently declared the official government building of the PaxLair Statehood.
More news to come on this topic in the coming days..

The Orcish Barricade Against the Solen
|
On the Evening of
March
28th, 2007, Warboss of PaxLair Ga’kuct had finally had
enough of the taunting, teasing, smell, and infiltration of the blessed Orc
Fort by those dirt digging Solen and decided it was time to end it once and for
all. Warboss Ga’kuct declared an all out war between the Orcs and the Solen,
the survivors getting claim of the land which both seemed to live on. Ga’kuct’s
night, however, did not go as initially planned.
Shortly after the set up of a barricade masterfully created in
order to make the Solen easy targets, mysterious creatures began rising from
the earth all around us. At first it was just one or two, but soon they
multiplied and multiplied. One earth elemental, two ogres, three titans, four
valorite elementals. They were everywhere and our barricade was soon over run and
destroyed. We were clueless as to what was going on, we only wanted to war the
Solen, did the Solen have such powerful allies? |

Public outcry has reached the desk of Mayor Ga’kuct as
citizens declare his policies on the homeless “cruel and unusual.†Ga’kuct, in
the recent week, had successfully removed the homeless from PaxLair through the
administration of his “Nub Ryph-Raph Law†and the “Clomp de Hutlezz†plan. The
resulting freedom of PaxLair from the homeless stench was met by foul ears as
the citizens heard rumors of how cruel the punishments were bestowed upon the
Homeless.
“Sure, they urinated on my walls, but I don’t feel as if
they needed to be tortured the way they were†claimed Eli, who seeks to remain
anonymous. “What the Orcs did to the homeless was horrific.â€Â
The concerned citizens of PaxLair have demanded an official
statement from Ga’kuct regarding his recent actions, and Ga’kuct has obliged
with this official statement:

The question has long been asked, "Where do all the Leprechauns go after St Patrick's Day?". Mayor Ga'kuct had long been suspicious that the Leprechauns were looking to unseat him as Mayor and sent out his best specialist for the task, me, John Duke. I looked high and low around PaxLair for any traces of Leprechauns, and it took many many minutes of searching before I found my first taste of Leprechaun.
A hideous Leprechaun-like creature
| I found a very peculiar patch of clovers, upon further investigation it
was discovered that all of these clovers were in fact four leafed
clovers. The clovers seemed to form a trail which lead to an area that
seemed to have been dug up recently. When I began to approach this area
a hideous creature appeared behind the tree. I dirtied my best pair of
pants upon seeing him, and was barely able to snap this image before I
ran away crying.
When I returned to Ga'kuct with my full report, and expectations of being treated like a welcomed hero, I was very sad to find out he had asked me to find a nest of pecans, not a nest of leprechauns.
Well, my investigation might of been for naught, but at least the secret was finally revealed. |

The Orcs meet the Homeless
| Recent population census declares PaxLair free of homeless
and poor persons! Since Ga’kuct’s meteoric rise to Mayor of PaxLair City, the
town once besieged with crowds of homeless and hobos has been successfully
relocated to a much more suitable location. Ga’kuct’s plan, called “Clomp da
Hutlezz†or loosely translated “Relocate the Less Fortunate†has successfully cleaned
PaxLair of all the homeless. What masterful plan was devised to create such
astounding results? Simple, eliminate them!
The last week the Orcs had been removing, forcefully, all of
the homeless from PaxLair. The first, and last warning, to the less fortunate
was in the forceful take over of the former Homeless Shelter, located on the
main road of
PaxLair
City.
Throughout the week, the Orcs have sought out and destroyed all those whom
decided to linger. And on
Saturday,
March 24th, 2007, the Orcs located the last of the hold
outs. |

PAXOKU (TOKUNO), PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - March 11, 2007
UO Stratics Reporter Sebrina met with Governor Winfield in the Silent Rose Library in PaxOku today. She asked the Governor for an interview with him and Mayor Ga'kuct of PaxLair City regarding the appointment of an Orc to the highest position in the historic PaxLair City on Felucca.
Instead of an immediate interview, Governor Winfield referred Sebrina to a set of books in the Silent Rose Library bookcase #8 containing the Orcish Collection from many, many years ago. These books provide information about the Orcs in PaxLair City and from times before PaxLair was built. The Governor may be interviewed in the near future.
The Governor advised all peoples that are interested in what is happening in PaxLair City, Felucca, to personally read these books to understand what has happened and may happen in the future.
As reported in the PaxOku Times this week, there is secrecy about why Ga'kuct was appointed as the Mayor of PaxLair City. Many PaxLair government officials are tight-lipped about the appointment. When questioned, they simply say, "read the history, think upon it, and know that some things have happened in the past few months worth noting."
The last time Governor, then Mayor, Winfield appointed an Orc to a high position was in 1999 when he made Ruglug one of his Chancellors of PaxLair. This was reported on the Britannian News Network (BNN) in 2000. |
